Vacation Time...

Vacation with the fam...

Hey yall!
We are so excited to be getting away for the week with our entire crew/family! We are going to Destin and have been going since we were 5 and absolutely love it.

Vacation for us means lots of laughter, sun, family time, great food, shopping and YESS, I'll be honest, a little stress too. With 6 kids things get a little crazzy but we wouldn't change a thing!

Ginger and myself went shopping yesterday to get a few things for our trip. Of course at MiGi's. ahhhh, we have so much cute stuff in right now we wanted everything but felt we must leave some for you guys! ;)

We did find this GREAT swimwear line called Zingara. Oh my goodness the fabrics are amazing and they have they best fit of any suit.. ever! I ordered a black criss cross top and a white one and found some cute gold bottoms at target! Cant wait to mix it up. Check out Zingara if you are looking for great quality swim pieces.

Im making some white cut off jean shorts today. Im even going to add a few holes to give it a distressed look. Love throwing on cut offs with a tank. I'll dress em up or dress em down. Either way cut offs are a fun way to wear jeans you might not wear anymore.

We must start packing for our trip but come shop MiGis this weekend and of course next week because lots and lots of inventory is keeping on coming even when we are out of town!! We will also update yall on sales we got coming too!

Thanks for reading our blog!

Fathers DAy is just around the corner and we wanted to share about our Daddy!

Our parents were just 22 years old when they found out they were having a baby. They were more than excited! Months go by and Mom noticed she was growing by the minute. She felt something wasnt right. She went to the DR to get a check up and while there she learned she wasnt having "A" baby but 2 babies. Mom was absolutely thrilled. She had prayed for twins for as long as she could remember and felt so blessed. She immediately drove straight to my Daddys job site to share the news with him. He almost passed out. Literally. He was filled with fear not knowing how they could ever afford twins. My Dad did what he knew he had to do and took a second job. He owned his own Contruction company and would work from 5 AM to 5:30 PM. He would come home eat dinner, shower then be at his other job from 8 PM to 2 Am.
We are So blessed to have a Daddy that did would it took to provide for his family.

A few years goes by and every afternoon when it was time for him to be home we would hide under the same wicker sofa and he would walk in the house immediately searching for us. He would finally find us hidden under that sofa and would tickle us to pieces.

A few more years goes by and we would love to play the monkey game. Our friends Kim and Julie LOVED the monkey game too. Our Dad would hop on top of the bar and we knew that it was Monkey Time!! We would take off running, screaming and laughing histerically. It was So FUN!!!

A few more years goes by and My parents never missed a sports activity. My Dad would drive us to every football game just to watch us cheer. During basketball season he would pick us up along with most of our basketball team with (warm bananna nut bread) that momma made and off we would go to the games! My parents were our biggest fans and it showed because of their never ending support through those years!

To sit back and reflect on just a few of these memories with you Im thankful that God handpicked Terry Thornton to be my Daddy! What a true gift and my heart is full with gratitude for all his hardwork to provide for us. He also showed us how much he loved us through his actions and creating life-long fun memories!

We hope you have a wonderful Fathers Day weekend !!

Identical twins but different sports!!

Hey friends!

We hope you have all had a great week!

We have had people ask us how we got in to "triathlons" and "fitness compitions" so we thought we'd share with you our story. :)

My story... (Ginger) Triathlete

Ive always been active and compititive growing up and Iwanted something to keep me that way even as a busy mom. I was a member of a gym and did regular step classes, spin classes etc but was looking for something to help drive me in to being more compititive. Not against others necessarily but to challenge myself.

In 2009 my Husband completed his first half ironman and I was totally inspired. I immediately said I want to do this! Well as it turned out God had different plans and I was thrilled to announce that baby #4 was on the way! That was a month after Chris's half ironman. I had sweet Luci Jett in MArch of 2010 and did my first triathlon in June and a few other small ones to finish up the summer.

I just completed my first triathlon of this year least weekend and it was lots of fun but really HOT! Im hooked and am now determined to up my training to be able to complete a half iron man in september. Wow... thats'll be here before I know it so gotta go add in some miles! :)

If you have any questions about races email me at gingerwartes@yahoo.com

My story... (Misti) Fitness compititor

Like Ginger, I too have always been compititive. Born that way Id guess you'd say! I loved the discipline it required and although it seemed as Ging and I were girly girls we both loved to sweat!

From the time I was a freshman in high school I was buying every fitness magazine, especially if Monica Brant was on the cover. She was my fitness icon! I also would watch my dad go to smoothie king every day and get his protein shake, come home and beast a workout out! He was so cool!.. I mean, eeehm eeehm, IS so cool! ;)

Last March I met Jon Marc at the gym. He approached me and said, " I want to train you" I immediately said , "when you want to start?"
After about 3 weeks of training he asked me to do a fitness compitition. I laughed and said NO WAYYY! Im way to shy and reserved for that. He let it go but only for about 2 more weeks and asked me again. This time I was really thinking about it because I realized how much I've always loved fitness and this would be something very challenging for me and I could do it compititively.

I started praying hard about it and had Gods approval and my husbands but unfortunately Im a people pleaser and needed to talk to all my closest friends about it. I had support from Most but not all. I had to learn that I needed to press on knowing in my heart that ultimately Gods approval along with Ti's support was all i really needed. I have to admit it still a battle for me and Ive also learned that I have to respect those that dont support it.

Its just another sport. Lots of cardio, lots of weight lifting and watching your diet an dof course lots of sweating! ;) So, it all goes back to im a little tomboy but still like to glam it up every now and then!!!

I just competed in my 3rd show where I placed 3rd. I qualified to compete nationally so Im deciding now which show will be my next! Ill keeo you all up to date...

God doesnt want us to stay just in our Christian bubble. He calls us to be a light for Him in a dark world and My prayer is that no matter what stage Im on, restaurant im in, my workplace etc, God will USE me for His GLORY!!!!!

For questions on competing email me at misti@bohbackpacks.com

The most Amazing artist. The Creator of every living thing.

Most of us love to "people watch", right? Well, as I sat back in Cabo, and "people watched," I started thinking of how God created everything unique and different. From human beings and personalities, to flowers and trees, there's nothing exactly the same. Wow! This blew me away. I shamefully never really pondered on just how creative my God is. He's what you call an artist.

My sister and I are identical twins. We look alike, but of course, not exact. We have different likes and dislikes. What motivates her doesn't me, and what motivates me doesn't her. We have similar personalities but not exact. We balance each other out. I've always been a little bit more outgoing to her being a bit more timid. I've always made her go first in changing a hairstlye or riding a ride, then I would decide if I could go for it. She's a bit more daring. Seems ironic since she's the one a little more timid right?! I am 1 minute older, so God created me to be motherly. Ha! She hated it and still does. ;) I was created that way from birth though!

It's really mind blowing thinking about how there's no 2 things the exact same. He created us All unique and in His image. He blessed us All with special gifts. That's right. We all have a gift that God gave us to use, but to bring glory to His name.

We have different passions, goals, dreams, and ambitions. And whatever yours is , search it out to bring His Name glory by using it.

Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy. And you might hear him telling you that you have no gift to use, but I challenge you all to pray hard about your God given gifts and use them. I've been there, hearing satan lie saying I have no gifts and he's even used others to put discouragement in my mind. I've learned so much over the past few months. And the #1 thing I can tell you is keep God first, and at the center of everything your walking through. He will bless, and honor your Trust in Him. Allow your life to touch someone else's.

For His Glory!!!

Hey Guys!! We are so excited to get our blog back going! It's crazy how finding the time to write for 20 minutes a week is so hard! But we want to get back on it because we love sharing what's going on with us and hope you enjoy reading!! ;)

We wanted to share with you how frustrating our vacation started out! We left Jackson at 6:00 am to fly to Dallas, and our final destination was CABO!! Yes, Cabo! A much needed getaway with our wonderful husbands. However, the delays were INSANE! We arrived in Dallas at 7:30 am with a 5 hour layover. As we were about to board, they announced that our flight had been cancelled. WHAT?!?!? Cancelled, Why?? Ginger and myself have always felt when there comes to a bend in the plan, that God is protecting us from something. So although we were disappointed, we still held out hope for an easy arrival to Cabo. We then spent an hour rebooking flights, and were going to fly out at 4:30 pm to Los Angeles because we would get an earlier flight the next morning to Cabo. So, 4:30 pm comes and they say the flight is cancelled!! WHAT?!?!? Not again!!! This time we were devastated! But I kept thinking about Francisca Batastelli's song, "This is the stuff" And I just felt in my spirit that God was still in control! So the four of us just sat there laughing hysterically. Now what? We, of course, decide to rebook again. We got a flight to Burbank, California where we would arrive at midnight (2:00 am our time). Whoaaaa, long day. Oh and btw, no luggage! :( I'm thankful for a bright husband who got insurance in case something like that happened. We got toothbrushes from the hotel in LA. And then woke up the next morning, and used our insurance money to purchase clean clothes! (Thankfully there was a mall in our hotel with an Express!!) Finally at 2:30 on Thursday we were finally on our way to Cabo. Praying our luggage was all there!

Things like this seem to happen to us a lot. I know God is protecting us from something that we can't see, but our Father above does. I'm so grateful for the setback. It was able to build our character AND patience! So even in disappointment, He's got a plan!!
